University open day experiences: UCA

On arrival at my first university open day I had no expectations for the experience. The campus layout was fairly simple and banners and student representatives were on hand to show the way. I’d initially thought that the welcome talk was essential however after attending subject specific session I found that a lot of the generalised information was repeated anyway.

The feel as I was walking around was really welcoming. Although the space was small it packed with creative content and had a really pleasant environment. The talks I attended were BA Hons Fashion Promotion & Imagery and BA Hons Fashion Marketing and Management. Each tutor seemed professional and I felt comfortable asking questions. I ended up in the lift with a marketing and management tutor who answered a few more queries I had about the maths content of the course and also said that from what she could see I would be appropriate for the course.

I finished the day with a tour of the campus and was able to take some photos of students work to contribute as inspiration for Unit 10.

Overall I liked UCA and am feeling even more excited to look at more universities.
