Following up on my research on the evolution of promoting current affairs, I wanted to collect my own supporting evidence: to see how relevant paper publications really are today. I used my personal Instagram account to host a poll and although the results were biased in terms of age range, they were exactly as I’d predicted them to be.
100% of votes (all unfortunately from people between the age of 17-25) stated that they do not buy paper publications which defends the point that they are increasingly a thing of the past. On the contrary I know from working at a supermarket with a largely geriatric customer base that its still very popular within the older generations to purchase the weekly paper but as the future is evidently with the youth – I think this is what should be focused on.
I will use this information in my final outcome to evaluate the usefulness of a paper outcome as opposed to a digital one and hopefully be able to justify my choices with some supporting evidence.
